DO NOT TAKE NON-STEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY AGENTS (ON THE DAY OF & FOR 4 FULL DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR PROCEDURE)

The list below includes but is not limited exclusively to these medications. Please check with your pharmacist to make sure your medications are not an NSAID.

Other Medication Instructions:

  • Pradaxa (Stop up to 3 to 5 days-as ordered by cardiologist on clearance letter)
  • Celebrex (stop for 48 hours prior to procedure)
  • Aggrenox (stop for 10 days prior to procedure)
  • Plavix (stop for 7 days prior to procedure)
  • Xarelto (Stop for 3 days prior to procedure)
  • Elmiron (stop for 48 hours prior to proedure)
  • Pletal (stop for 48 hours prior to procedure)
  • Miradon (stop for 72 hours prior to procedure)
  • Herapin SQ (stop for 12 hours prior to procedure)
  • Lovinox (.5mg stop for 12 hours prior and >.5mg stop for 24 hours prior to procedure)
  • Coumadin (stop 5 to 7 days prior to procedure)
  • Effient or Prasugrel ( stop 7 days prior to procedure)
  • Toradol (stop for 48 hours prior to procedure)
  • TPA Infusion (100mg should be out of system in 2 days)

***DO NOT STOP ANY PRESCRIBED BLOOD THINNING UNTIL WE HAVE RECEIVED CLEARANCE FROM YOUR DOCTOR AND WE WILL CALL YOU.
